What is a Naturally Thin Person, Anyway?

One of my favorite things in the whole world is inspiring
men and women to live thin...naturally thin.

The other day, after I did my first youtube video, one
woman asked if I could do another video explaining what a
naturally thin individual is vs. an unnaturally thin person.

Here you go...

If you have any other topics you'd like me to make a video
on, feel free to let me know!

Perfectionsim Sucks Your Weight Loss Efforts Out the Door

Are you a perfectionist that wants, or rather needs everything to be a certain way? Is slimming down driving you crazy because you want the weight to come off in a certain manner, but it’s just not!

Perfectionism can make slimming down impossible. Here are just a few of the negative consequences that I see in my practice:

Low self-esteem. Perfectionists never feels ``good enough'' about personal performance, so feelings of being a failure' often result.

Guilt. Perfectionists never feel good about the way responsibility has been handled and guilt may result.

Pessimism. Perfectionists are often convinced that it will be extremely difficult to achieve an ``ideal goal,'' so being pessimistic about future efforts to reach a goal is commonplace.

Depression. Needing always to be ``perfect,'' yet recognizing that it is impossible to achieve such a goal is depressing!

Rigidity. Needing to have everything in one's life perfect can lead a perfectionist to an extreme case of being inflexible and rigid.

Obsessiveness. Being in need of an excessive amount of order, pattern, or structure in life can lead a perfectionistic person to become obsessive to maintain a certain order.

Compulsive behavior. Over-indulgence or the compulsive use of alcohol, drugs, gambling, food, shopping, food, is often used to medicate a perfectionist who feels like a failure for never being able to be ``good enough'' in life.

Lack of motivation. Believing that the goal of ``slimming down'' will never be able to be perfectly achieved can often give a perfectionist a lack of motivation to attempt change in the first place.

Immobilization. Perfectionists often feel burdened with an extreme fear of failure, the person can become immobilized. With no energy to improve or change the problem stagnation can occur.

Can you relate to one or more of these?

Is perfectionism wreaking havoc on your goals to slim down?

If so, tonight I’ll be walking you through a workshop focused on identifying where your perfectionistic tendencies are holding you back from slimming down, and you’ll map out a plan to move through the shackles of perfection to experience freedom, joy and the possibility of thinness!

How's Your Self-Talk?

Do you know that your self-talk runs your life?

If you have chatter that is telling you that you are fabulous and thin, you will be. If, on the other hand, you have chatter that tells you that your thyroid, your genes, your mother-brother-aunt-or sister is responsible, then you will believe it and feel terrible.

I want you to feel great and I see my job as helping you to slim down and feel your best.

One way that may be getting in the way of you feeling and looking your best, is your self-talk or mind chatter.

In order for you to see long-term results, then it is critical that your mind is in alignment with your desire to slim down and live as a thin person.

Imagine teaching a six year old to ride a bike. Then, every time she places her food on the pedal you scream out to her “You’re not doing it right.” Over and over she would hear you tell her this message. Would you think she would be excited and motivated to hop on her bike after hearing you scream at her half-a-dozen times? Of course not, you could easily see her self-esteem crumble and the experience of riding her bike would be a negative one.

Are you doing the exact same thing every time you step on the scale or
catch a glimpse of yourself in front of the mirror? Are you basically telling yourself “You don’t look right?”

You are invited to join me on Wednesday while I share with you, five critical steps to mastering your self-talk for once an for all.

5 naturally thin tips to get through the weekend...

4th of July is coming up…here are 5 naturally thin tips to get through the weekend...

1. Set the intention to have a thin weekend. My clients often share with me their fear of eating out of control, eating too much, or jeopardizing their fantastic results during the 4th of July holiday weekend. If this sounds familiar, set the intention each morning to eat and live thin. Visualize yourself being in control of what you put in your body. See yourself having gobs of energy and being the life of the party. When you set your intention each and every day, you are more apt to see fantastic results!

2. Make sure you enjoy your friends and family, not just the food. Socialize, talk to friends, catch up with family members and make sure you enjoy socializing and asking questions versus just enjoying the food. Naturally thin people help out the host and take it upon themselves to be of service. Examples include helping to clean up, organizing things in the kitchen, helping to BBQ, or even go out of your way to make sure everyone has a drink. Find a job and you will find yourself naturally focusing on others, not just on the food.

3. Make a point of grabbing the good stuff first. When you see a delicious spread of 4th of July goodies. Check in first to see if you are hungry. If so, eat the foods that look the best first. Take 10 slow bites and then run around and socialize. If you find yourself hungry 10-20 minutes later, eat your next favorite foods. When you eat your favorite foods first, you will feel psychologically satisfied, and any sense of deprivation will magically disappear (this is the secret that every naturally thin person knows intuitively!).

4. Play. Get out this weekend and play with your loved ones. Play in the park, go for a bike ride, take the dogs to the dog park and walk, play in the pool, or go for a light jog. Have fun together and enjoy your weekend by getting out and moving.

5. Alternate water with your favorite drink. The 4th of July is a great time to drink your favorite beer or glass of wine. Alternate a glass of water with a glass of wine or beer so that you can pay attention to the impact alcohol is having on your body (if you do in fact drink). Have fun, but stay in control. Your body will thank you.

Enjoy your weekend!

Marna
