After extolling the school and its dedicated staff, he offered a question: 'When not interfered with by outside influences, everything nature does is done with perfection. Yet my son, Shay, cannot learn things as other children do. He cannot understand things as other children do. Where is the natural order of things in my son?'

The audience was stilled by the query.

The father continued. 'I believe that when a child like Shay, physically and mentally handicapped comes into the world, an opportunity to realize true human nature presents itself, and it comes in the way other people treat that child.'

Then he told the following story:

Shay and his father had walked past a park where some boys Shay knew were playing baseball.. Shay asked, 'Do you think they'll let me play?' Shay's father knew that most of the boys would not want someone like Shay on their team, but the father also understood that if his son were allowed to play, it would give him a much-needed sense of belonging and some confidence to be accepted by others in spite of his handicaps.

Shay's father approached one of the boys on the field and asked (not expecting much) if Shay could play. The boy looked around for guidance and said, 'We're losing by six runs and the game is in the eighth inning. I guess he can be on our team and we'll try to put him in to bat in the ninth inning.'

Shay struggled over to the team's bench and, with a broad smile, put on a team shirt. His Father watched with a small tear in his eye and warmth in his heart. The boys saw the father's joy at his son being accepted. In the bottom of the eighth inning, Shay's team scored a few runs but was still behind by three. In the top of the ninth inning, Shay put on a glove and played in the right field. Even though no hits came his way, he was obviously ecstatic just to be in the game and on the field, grinning from ear to ear as his father waved to him from the stands. In the bottom of the ninth inning, Shay's team scored again. Now, with two outs and the bases loaded, the potential winning run was on base and Shay was scheduled to be next at bat.

At this juncture, do they let Shay bat and give away their chance to win the game? Surprisingly, Shay was given the bat.. Everyone knew that a hit was all but impossible because Shay didn't even know how to hold the bat properly, much less connect with the ball.

However, as Shay stepped up to the plate, the pitcher, recognizing that the other team was putting winning aside for this moment in Shay's life, moved in a few steps to lob the ball in softly so Shay could at least make contact. The first pitch came and Shay swung clumsily and missed. The pitcher again took a few steps forward to toss the ball softly towards Shay. As the pitch came in, Shay swung at the ball and hit a slow ground ball right back to the pitcher.

The game would now be over. The pitcher picked up the soft grounder and could have easily thrown the ball to the first baseman. Shay would have been out and that would have been the end of the game.

Instead, the pitcher threw the ball right over the first baseman's head, out of reach of all team mates. Everyone from the stands and both teams started yelling, 'Shay, run to first! Run to first!' Never in his life had Shay ever run that far, but he made it to first base. He scampered down the baseline, wide-eyed and startled.

Everyone yelled, 'Run to second, run to second!' Catching his breath, Shay awkwardly ran towards second, gleaming and struggling to make it to the base. By the time Shay rounded towards second base, the right fielder had the ball .... the smallest guy on their team who now had his first chance to be the hero for his team. He could have thrown the ball to the second-baseman for the tag, but he understood the pitcher's intentions so he, too, intentionally threw the ball high and far over the third-baseman's head. Shay ran toward third base deliriously as the runners ahead of him circled the bases toward home.

All were screaming, 'Shay, Shay, Shay, all the Way Shay'

Shay reached third base because the opposing shortstop ran to help him by turning him in the direction of third base, and shouted, 'Run to third! Shay, run to third!'

As Shay rounded third, the boys from both teams, and the spectators, were on their feet screaming, 'Shay, run home! Run home!' Shay ran to home, stepped on the plate, and was cheered as the hero who hit the grand slam and won the game for his team.

'That day', said the father softly with tears now rolling down his face, 'the boys from both teams helped bring a piece of true love and humanity into this world'.

Shay didn't make it to another summer. He died that winter, having never forgotten being the hero and making his father so happy, and coming home and seeing his Mother tearfully embrace her little hero of the day!

AND NOW A LITTLE FOOTNOTE TO THIS STORY: We all send thousands of jokes through the e-mail without a second thought, but when it comes to sending messages about life choices, people hesitate. The crude, vulgar, and often obscene pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion about decency is too often suppressed in our schools and workplaces.

If you're thinking about forwarding this message, chances are that you're probably sorting out the people in your address book who aren't the 'appropriate' ones to receive this type of message. Well, the person who sent you this believes that we all can make a difference. We all have thousands of opportunities every single day to help realize the 'natural order of things.' So many seemingly trivial interactions between two people present us with a choice: Do we pass along a little spark of love and humanity or do we pass up those opportunities and leave the world a little bit colder in the process?

A wise man once said every society is judged by how it treats it's least fortunate amongst them.

You now have two choices:
1. Delete
2. Forward
"In order to change your weight, you must first change your mind." http://www.ThinWithin.com
Marna Goldsteinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13035134182865841490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32850320.post-90319173547780671352008-04-21T07:34:00.005-07:002008-04-21T07:42:02.669-07:00Experience the Thin Way TONIGHTThis evening I would be happy to have you join us for
a thin-dining experience that I know you've never experienced
before.

You will prepare a delicious dish of your choice and
I will walk you through "the thin experience"
of eating. I have to tell you, he
uses the exact same words and methods that I do.

In fact, when I was watching the show, my significant
other was sure that he took my information.
He was jumping up and down saying "Are you kidding
me..it's the exact same information."

Well...what can I say, another brilliant mind like
mine exists....I'm just kidding :)

I'm sure we both came up with similare
information over the years. Frankly - it works! I
have people seeing massive results every single day!!

In any case, many of you have written asking me to
comment on the show. I agree with his golden rules
for slimming down, yet there were several things
he left out however, so I tried to capture a few
of them for you on this youtube video.

http://www.youtube.com/user/thinwithin

Marna

P.S. I felt unprofessional and I felt
pretty uncomfortable.

So here's what I want you to know... no matter
whether you're a size 2 or a size 22, you have
dumpy days. The key is not to make it last or
you could find yourself feeling worse and find
yourself 10 pounds heavier in no time.

I'm heading into day two of my seminar, and
I'm sure to meet many new producers and authors.

I realize that this conference might not be
my best feeling conference, but I just woke
up, did some yoga and meditated overlooking
beautiful rolling hills in my hotel, all of
which connected me and energizing me. I said
affirmations of love and gratitude, and
I know I will eat in alignment to my body.

Despite my outfit today (who knows what
that will be), I will smile and stand tall.
I will put on makeup and look my best.

I say all this to inspire you to
do the same today. We all have "not so
attractive" days, it's normal. Just
don't take it out on your body by
overeating or sliding into a depression by
turning to food.

Stand up tall, walk with confidence and
smile knowing that you can do anything!!

You are beautiful.

Will all the love in my heart,
Marna
"In order to change your weight, you must first change your mind." http://www.ThinWithin.com
Marna Goldsteinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13035134182865841490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32850320.post-4773545669462511232008-02-06T10:12:00.000-07:002008-02-06T10:17:03.380-07:00Can Lipstick Make You Thin??Have you ever been sitting in your
car listening to the radio - when something
grabs you?

The other day I was sitting in the
car and I heard my favorite morning
DJ's talking about this certain lipstick
that will make you thin.

My initial reaction was "Are you
kidding me? What stupid diet
invention are they coming up with
now?"

But then I thought about it...

Of course lipstick can make you
thin!!!

You don't need any particular lipstick,
yours will do the trick.

It's true! When you feel good about
yourself and wear lipstick, splash
on your favorite perfume/cologne, or
lather your body in delicious smelling
lotion, of course you can slim down.

I see it in my practice ALL the time!

Slimming down is all about how you
love yourself. How you care for your
body and what you do to nurture it.

So reach into your purse and throw
on a gorgeous shade of lipstick, and
know, that the more you do now to
feel good about your body, the more your
body with thank you.

Marna

P.S. I have created a very special
treat for you that I'll be sharing
in the next few days...until then,
I'm finishing up the last touches!
"In order to change your weight, you must first change your mind." http://www.ThinWithin.com
Marna Goldsteinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13035134182865841490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32850320.post-72451057058646481482008-01-10T14:30:00.000-07:002008-01-10T14:31:08.628-07:00What Are You Putting Off Due to Your Weight? What are you putting off due to your weight?

This past weekend I was up in Vail with some friends, staying in this incredible condo only yards from the lift.

In years past I have always been a bit shy skiing with others, worrying that I wouldn’t be good enough, or that they would make fun of me.

This weekend I found myself skiing with four other men, all of which are pretty darn good snowboarders. At first I wanted to ski off on my own, for fear of looking like a goob. Yet, I held it together and skied with them for several runs.

What I realized is that for over two decades of me skiing, I’ve been scared to ski with others because I thought I would lag behind and I was fearful that I would be embarrassed. What I found out this weekend was that I’m a pretty darn good skier for someone who doesn’t ski all that often, and that I have absolutely no reason to be embarrassed.

How many things are you putting off due to your body? Do you find yourself scared to take on skiing, biking, wearing beautiful clothes, or even coaching with me because you know I’ll hold you accountable?

What would life look like if you didn’t hold back? If you faced your fear?

I encourage you to do one thing this week that you’ve been putting off due to added pounds or what you fear others will think.

You can do it!!

Tell me how it goes.

Marna

P.S. I have four more openings for my support group starting on Jan. 21 and six more slots available for coaching.

Let me know how I can help:

Support group: http://www.thinwithin.com/jansupportgroup.html
Coaching: http://www.thinwithin.com/coaching.htm
"In order to change your weight, you must first change your mind." http://www.ThinWithin.com
Marna Goldsteinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13035134182865841490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32850320.post-18413541330171802322008-01-08T16:30:00.000-07:002008-01-08T16:32:29.760-07:008 Ways To Reach Your Body Goal8 Ways To Reach Your Body Goal

1. Assess where you are at right now. Are you eating for emotional reasons? Are you stress eating? What is your current feeling about your body, your size, or your weight? Do you feel connected to your body, connected to your hunger?

2. Ask yourself these questions: What’s my goal this year? Why do I want to achieve it? When do I want to achieve it by? Will I do what’s required to succeed? Do I need additional support or resources to attain my desired goal?

3. Break down your large goal into smaller, more manageable pieces. This is a NLP technique called chunking.

4. Recruit a friend to go through this process with you. Share your goals, come up with a plan and support one another.

5. Schedule yourself out. Use your calendar to schedule workouts, to schedule time to meditate, to schedule time to take care of yourself and your needs.

6. Get rid of the all-or-nothing attitude. Perfectionism runs wild and achieving your desired body is not about doing things perfectly, but about moving toward your desired state.

7. Write your goals down and look at them at least a few times a week to activate your brain. When you write body goals down, you are ahead of 95% of other men and women wanting to slim down.

8. Each time you listen to your body or life Thin From Within, put some money in a jar. By the end of the month, go splurge on something fun like a massage, a manicure, a fun class, whatever…

To learn more simple tips to keep you living Thin From Within, head to http://www.ThinWithin.com.
"In order to change your weight, you must first change your mind." http://www.ThinWithin.com
Marna Goldsteinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13035134182865841490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32850320.post-65886751911673227962007-12-17T10:08:00.000-07:002007-12-17T14:05:10.170-07:00Who Needs A Thyroid Anyways???Monday was the big day.

I apologize for not being in touch until today. For all of you who have sent loving words and prayers of healing, thank you!

On Monday Morning I went in for surgery. My significant other and parents joined me. My adrenaline was definitely pumping, so I was entertaining them pre-surgery with laughter, jokes and silliness.

I ended up going to high school with the pre-op nurse and so we laughed, shared stories, etc.

When I went in for surgery, the nurses and surgeons heard about thew work I did and were so interested, they said that they wanted my card....who knew I needed to stash business cards under my gown!

As I was talking about my philosophy and the amazing results I see...I was out!

The surgery took five hours and when I came out I was told they took my entire thyroid due to it looking suspicious on both sides. I was also told that they didn't think it was cancer, but a final pathology report would let me know.

I stayed in the hospital for two days and met another nurse, her name was Heather. Heather too loved the work I did and said she wanted to be a nurse involved with what I did.

Monday night I had wonder friends that visited, my parents stayed until the wee
hours and my significant other slept in my hospital bed with me, taking care of my every need.

A few days later I received my staples out and I received great news…no cancer!! YAY!!! No radiation, which is great, I’ll just have to be on thyroid meds forever. The issue is that I had nodules on both sides that were showing follicular cells, and one out of four people with these follicular cells have cancer…so I tried all these procedures beforehand before having to undergo surgery, but all the tests showed up inconclusive.

My scar is rather large and definitely in the healing mode (that's me being positive regarding the way it looks)...if you really want to see it, let me know and I'll take a picture...for now, sweaters are perfect.

Today I'm going to go on a shopping spree and buy some trendy clothes.

Which leads me to what I want to share with you:

I'm sure you have parts of your body that you wish to hide, like my reaction to when I first saw my scar.

Perhaps it's a scar, your thighs, your stomach, etc.

What can you do to make it beautiful? What can you do to make that part of your body look and feel its best?

I'm going to go grab some awesome sweaters. Maybe some cool North Face fleece zip-ups....so at least while I'm healing, I can feel good about myself and not shy away, not avoid holiday parties, and still look fabulous. As you can imagine, my mother was
concerned and took me to my pediatrician to see if I had thyroid issues. The
results were always the same, "Marna is in perfect health."

On Monday, August 13, I went in for my annual gynecological exam and during this
exam, my gynecologist said, "has anyone ever told you that you have an enlarged
thyroid?" I said yes, but that no one had ever really done much about it. My
blood work always came back normal. He said that he didn't want to step on my
regular doctor's toes, but he strongly recommended I have it looked at.

Reluctantly I made an appointment a month later to have my thyroid looked at,
knowing full well that they would once again tell me everything was fine.

He too said it was enlarged, and that he would do an ultrasound but thought it
was probably nothing. After a few minutes lying with my head back in the ultrasound room, he said that he saw several nodules and he took several biopsies.

About a week later and in utter anticipation for the results, I found out that
the results were inconclusive. They couldn't say if the nodules were cancer.

Over the past two and a half months I've undergone 12 biopsies and a scan, all results leading to inconclusive evidence. So today, I'm heading in to discuss plans for surgery.

So why in the world have I waited to tell you this information: over the past
several weeks, I have been on medication that has totally suppressed my thyroid
from functioning. Although I'm tired, I want you to know that my weight has
stayed the same.

Knowing how to live thin and how to think thin has kept me from gaining gobs of
weight and being totally out of control. Even in playing the waiting game and
wanting to pull my hair out much of the time in anticipation has still not
turned into added weight gain.

For those of you whom have dabbled in living thin and using a non-diet
methodology, I want you to know, that I, like you have undergone stress over the
past year and my weight still manages to stay in the same range.

I want you to have the confidence to know, like I do, that life may sometimes
bring you stress, frustration or pain. Yet, you can feel confident that no
matter what life brings your way, your weight will stay the same and your body
will not have to pay the price!

I'm not writing this so that you feel badly for me, beacause I know exactly why I attracted this situation. I write this so that you know that I am a real person, with real issues and have been able to stay thin through this process. I want to inspire you to be the thin and know that this process of living thin is amazing! I am so fortunate to have learned from the thin, and you deserve for thinness to be a part of your daily life.

In love and health,

Marna

P.S. I want to thank the support of my loved ones, my team of physicans who have lovingly guided me through this entire process, and the massive amount of support from all of you. Your love and support means more to me than you know! I am truly blessed to have all of you in my life. Thank you!!!
"In order to change your weight, you must first change your mind." http://www.ThinWithin.com
Marna Goldsteinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13035134182865841490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32850320.post-57777372917658724852007-11-28T10:05:00.000-07:002007-11-28T10:06:20.008-07:00From Bingeing to Freedom-A Beautiful Story"Before I heard about Marna, I really had hit an all time low. I was binging and purging and couldn't stop. If I did stop, it was to go on a diet and once I was off the diet, the bingeing and purging would resume. I had been doing this for two years, but I had been struggling with eating issues my whole life really. I had tried every diet possible and every exercise regimen out there. I even tried acupuncture and Chinese medicine. The novelty of each new "solution" would eventually wear off and I'd be right back to where I started.

In May of 2006, I really thought that the next stop would have to be an eating disorder treatment center. The self-loathing I was experiencing was literally incapacitating. Then I heard about Marna and she gave the tools I needed to change my life. Instead of obsessing about food and my weight, I started to obsess about all the ways that I could enrich my life. I began taking voice lessons, enrolled in Pilates teaching certification course, and playing basketball and trivial with friends on the weekends. I became the person I always wanted to be simply by making it so. Once I started living a fulfilled life, I had so many other things to think about and focus on and food just moved into the background.

It's been six months since I last purged--the longest time in the past two or three years -- and I've lost around 15 pounds that I know will never come back.

This was the first Thanksgiving since I can remember where I simply enjoyed myself and ate the foods I wanted to eat and didn't think twice about it. The guilt that I spent a lifetime building around food has disappeared-there is so much more to life than worrying about food. It's possible to change, but it's YOU that has to do it!

Thanks Marna!
-Samantha Dickinson"

If you would like to receive coaching so you can be a success story like Samantha, go to:

www.thinwithin.com/coaching.htm

In love and gratitude,

Marna
"In order to change your weight, you must first change your mind." http://www.ThinWithin.com
Marna Goldsteinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13035134182865841490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32850320.post-89687666957703450752007-11-16T14:13:00.000-07:002007-11-16T14:14:36.599-07:00“I Overate, Now What?”You just ate a delicious meal with your friend at a favorite dive near your home, and as you get up from the table, you find your belly popping at your pants’ seams. “Oh my goodness” you say to yourself as you find yourself having overeaten and feeling slightly out of control.

What can you do when you overeat?

One of the most tragic things I see people do over and over again is beat themselves up. Getting caught up in negative self-talk is dangerous and may even spiral your results out of control.

If you find yourself sabotaging yourself with words like: “I am such a loser”, “I’ll never get this right”, “I’m just doomed to be fat”, or any other negative statements, then immediately transform your words into statements that are more positive and powerful. There is absolutely nothing good or motivating that comes from beating yourself up and feeling horrible for one measly meal.

I have one word that I use over and over that gets me through my not-so-in-control meals, and that word is NEXT. Whenever I overeat, I just say “NEXT”. I figure I have a bazillion more meals to eat in a comfortable and natural fashion. Move on by just saying “NEXT” and visualize how your next meal will turn out.

Here are some questions that I ask myself if I myself in the situation of overeating.
1. What just occurred?
2. Why did I lose touch of my body?
3. If I were in touch with my body, how would my meal have looked?
4. What do I need?

Taking time to address the above questions will help you begin to see eating patterns. For example, if you see that every time you eat with a particular friend, you find yourself two pounds heavier the following day, you may want to find new ways to connect with that particular friend.

It is more useful to look for patterns in your behavior and make small changes versus feeling awful and spinning out of control.

Remember, living Thin From Within is about loving yourself!

For more information about Marna and Marna’s 14 year success story, go to http://www.thinwithin.com
"In order to change your weight, you must first change your mind." http://www.ThinWithin.com
Marna Goldsteinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13035134182865841490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32850320.post-22544012522309776102007-10-29T11:56:00.000-07:002007-10-29T11:59:13.738-07:00Are You Not Getting The Weight Loss Results You Desire? If you are not getting the results
you desire, there are 5 reasons...

http://www.thinwithin.com/5reasons.htm

Nov. 5 begin learning
what in the world is keeping
you from having the body you desire.

http://www.thinwithin.com/5reasons.htm

Marna
"In order to change your weight, you must first change your mind." http://www.ThinWithin.com
Marna Goldsteinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13035134182865841490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32850320.post-47137591684147381212007-10-25T11:02:00.000-07:002007-10-25T11:57:13.511-07:00Are You Ready to See ResultTechnorati Profile

Getting results is an interesting thing isn't it?

Some of you are incredible at attracting:
*Money
*Friends
*Business Partners
*Relationships
*Gifts
*Vacations

etc...

I love learning how people get results and how I can continue
attracting and getting the success results I desire.

Most of you have areas where you are incredible with getting
results and areas where you need support.

I'm happy to say that in the area of attracting friends,
business partners, money, a body I desire and relationships,
I've been pretty successful.

I struggle at times with being unfocused and not wanting
to work out. Just go walk in the door. If you want to walk right back out, fine...(I never walk out. I've had five minute workouts however).

2. I listen to incredible uplifiting must.

4. I grab a trashy magazine about celebrities and only read it while at the gym.

5. When I'm on the machines I tell myself how strong and fabulous I'm looking! With less sunlight, tans wearing off, and outdoor activities dwindling down, it’s important to continue to think of your body.

Marna Goldstein, expert and author of Naturally Thin Secrets, shares that all too often people begin pouring on the pounds once the weather cools off and jackets and sweaters come on. Goldstein states, “My busy season begins this season as men and women find the scales slowly increasing and their activity decreasing. I begin hearing more frustration and anger with their bodies as fall hits.”

Goldstein recommends these seven sure-fire tips to make sure you don’t fall off the wagon with your weight this FALL season.

1. Find sexy, figure-flattering clothes. It’s easy to begin getting ready for the summer as you think about tank tops and bikinis. Once sweaters and jackets come on, make sure you don’t get in the habit of neglecting your body. Don’t hide behind big sweaters and sweats. Find sexy, figure-flattering clothes that keep you warm and show off your svelte figure at the same time. You feel confident and confidence always leads to keeping your weight down.

2. Get rid of the old and fashion flawed. Dig through magazines and find fashion-forward fall trends. Head to your closets and put together fun and hip outfits. Throw away anything that doesn’t make you feel like a thousand bucks and that makes you feel out of date. Get a long-length mirror and twirl around so you can see all parts of you. Remember, how you feel during the day in your clothes makes all the difference in the world.

3. Make a pact with your feelings. The key to keeping your weight down has almost everything to do with your feelings. If you feel down in the dumps, your body will too. Keep your feelings light and energetic. Write down in the morning how you want to feel during the day about yourself and your body. Make a pact to feel great about your body this season, and do everything you can to feel light and beautiful.

4. Get out in the sun. Yes, of course you should wear sun protection, but make sure you see the sun during the day. With the sun going down earlier, and less sunlight during the day, make sure you get some sun during your lunch or breaks. Light feeds your soul and helps you feel alive and energetic. Get out in some light and watch your spirits soar.

5. Do the sexy walk and walk tall. Get out of your chair during the day and begin strutting your stuff. Sway your hips, cross one ankle over the other as you walk, and walk with confidence. At work, there’s no reason you can’t get up and feel good about your body. When you stand tall and walk sexy, you feel tall and thin. The better you feel about your body now, the less work you’ll have to do to get back in shape during the spring and summer seasons.

6. Get inspired this season. Pick just one additional physical activity you can do that would be above and beyond your normal routine. Whether it’s a walk for a great cause, a 5k run, a hike, or playing Frisbee in the rain, just pick one and stick to it.

7. Strip down. We see ourselves half naked during the summer, whether it’s wearing shorts, sporting little tank tops to show off our neckline and arms, or wearing sun dresses. Make sure you don’t go nine months without seeing your body, only to be frightened when you go to wear next summer’s favorites. Get naked, sleep naked, and make sure you see your body. Wear shorts around the house, go on vacations where you can lie in the sun or buy yourself sexy lingerie so that you don’t hide that beautiful body of yours all season.

Marna Goldstein is the owner of http://www.ThinWithin.com. 14 years ago, Goldstein took her body from a size 14/16 to a size 6/8 by studying how thin people thin, act and live. A safe space where we could talk and discuss the pain, the frustration and the realness of our situation. Oh, what a difference that would have made to our self-esteem!

Being heavy as a child was challenging...

When I was 12 years old, I remember trying to cross my legs and remember the feeling of seeing unsightly fat push out. Or the times I hid behind the camera in fear of having my picture taken, or getting dressed in the locker room during gym class hiding my body in hopes that my friends wouldn't see my tiny chest and large thighs.

Being an overweight kid is tough. It's painful. If you are one or were one, you know what I'm talking about.

That's why I'm so excited for Thursday night. We are going to reveal some insights regarding motivation, regarding permanent weight loss, and we are going to dive into many of the questions we hear on a daily basis from our kids and teens.

I want kids and teens to know:

1. In order to change your weight, all you have to do is change your mind.
2. Motivation can be learned, and if you don't have it it's perfectly normal!
3. Diets don't work!
4. You deserve to love yourself right now, so don't wait.
5. Move beyond your limiting beliefs to look and feel fabulous!

What would you want them to know? There are some great ones here, so pick and choose those that will work best for you and give them a try.

1. Cut out the weight you'd like to be and place it on the scale. That way every time you choose to use a scale, you'll see your ideal weight.

2. Remember to keep your goals in sight to motivate yourself.

3. Spend each morning feeling how fantastic it feels to have the body you have. The incredible machine your body is.

4. To be successful you need to change your life. You need to take control of the negative thoughts and beliefs that are not supporting you to be your best.

5. Get excited. You need to feel excited about knowing you can and will change your body. And by changing your body, you will feel fabulous!

6. You have to believe that you can do it. Dreams turn into reality very quickly when you believe.

7. Don’t try to lose weight. The number one indicator of excessive weight gain in the future is attempting to lose weight in the past. Don’t diet, it won’t last. Instead get up and start feeling fabulous.

8. Start to wear clothes that mak your body look its best. It may be a slighlty larger size, but it's much better to wear a larger size and feel fabulous, than wearing dumpy clothes that make you feel horrible about your body.

9. Don't snack.

10. Deal with emotions in emotional ways.

11. Deal with food in physiological ways.

12. Eat foods your body loves. Pay attention to the impact is having on your body and choose accordingly.

13. Stop watching the scale every day. If you must weigh yourself, do it just once a week — as soon as you wake up, after you use the bathroom.

14. No matter how much you want a change in your life, nothing will happen until you DO something. You can talk about starting an exercise regiment or getting coaching, but nothing will change until you START DOING IT.

15. Schedule new and exciting ways to keep yourself busy during times you know you’re vulnerable to snacking. Switch things up to help break bad habits.

16. Deal with the underlying issues of any self medicating you are doing by eating. Dealing with any underlying feelings will be a lot more effective then anything else.

18. Start by just choosing one thing. Start small. Changing your lifestyle overnight by making just one small change.

19. Tell people around you what you’re doing. This will keep you motivated to continue. Don’t ask for their support, but say “I’m on this new thing where I’m going to kick butt and accomplish my dreams.

20. Celebrate your success! New clothes, pedicures, manicures and thousands other pampering delights make awesome rewards to celebrate your accomplishments.

21. Measure your success. One fabulous way to measure your success is to take your measurements. Sometimes your scale won’t budge but your waistline will.

22. Eat slowly and absolutely savour every bite.

23. Your body may not need all the food that’s on your plate. You could eat the leftovers for lunch the next day and save yourself some money, or you could split it with your loved one. Sometimes I've even given it away to the homeless.

24. Observe your hunger patterns.

25. Eat a varied diet.
"In order to change your weight, you must first change your mind." http://www.ThinWithin.com
Marna Goldsteinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13035134182865841490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32850320.post-27023577183696921752007-07-02T13:29:00.000-07:002007-07-02T14:20:53.451-07:00MY FIRST MOVIE!

The trip to LA this weekend was amazing! Spending time with Kim Hiatt, my Thin From Within Kids partner was a treat.

Since Kim and I have such a unique approach to weight loss, Kenny was excited to interview us to be in his new movie (Kenny won last year's MTV award for best documentary). Of course, we were ecstatic!

On Sunday, Kenny's crew came to interview us.

Here I am with Kenny, who is creating the documentary, "Facing the Fat".

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/__QTUbFG_M_w/Roll9n3VPkI/AAAAAAAAABI/M2nhteBhwQc/s320/Kenny+in+Facing+the+Fat+005.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5082705763811802690" />
My First Movie, Facing the Fat

"Facing the Fat" is the latest documentary feature film from Saylors Brothers Entertainment that tackles one of the most sensitive and devastating problems in the world today.... USING THE LAW OF ATTRACTION

Once in awhile I get pretty serious. Please take time to read the article below. Since I care so much about your mental and physical well-being, I wanted to take extra care in crafting this newsletter article for you regarding the law of attraction. Read and enjoy!

The law of attraction is one of the most powerful laws in the universe, and regardless of your religious beliefs, it is working in your life right now, and right now, and right now.

This law states that like attracts like; therefore, many of the issues you presently have in your life, you have likely attracted in some way or another.

I know that this news at first can be a bit frightening but is powerful once fully understood.

Since the law of attraction states like attracts like, it would mean that if you are focused on losing *weight* you are actually punishing yourself and attracting more of the need to lose *weight*.

What most people don't understand is that we attract into our lives a mirror image of our internal feelings, which is why I'm so excited by my new 4-week seminar coming up on July 9th called THINNERGIZED! If you don't feel loving toward you body and expect your body to transform, it's literally impossible for long-term healing to occur.

Just as you must get yourself to realize that you must
first love yourself to attract love into your life, not the other way around, slimming down is just the same. You must first feel thin and loving toward your body to attract a thin body.

Feeling this love can be a powerful tool to re-educate your self to bring about body transformation.

I want to see each and every one of you happy and enjoying your body to its fullest.

You inspire me to do the work I do and I hope you'll join me in a few weeks to get THINNERGIZED!

To your thin self,

Marna

P.S.
